SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, SDI Junior Open Water Diver, or equivalent

Designed to expand a diver’s knowledge in the use of their personal dive computer (PDC) and is primarily intended for divers who are certified with agencies using traditional dive tables for planning, rather than PDCs throughout training.

What can I do after receiving my certificate?
  1. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in diving activities without direct supervision of the SDI Instructor* so long as the following limits are adhered to:
    • The diving activities approximate those of training
    • The areas of activities approximate those of training
    • Environmental conditions approximate those of training

    *Note: Junior divers (ages 10-14) must participate in Shore and Beach diving activities with a parent, guardian, or dive professional.

How long does the course take?

The duration of the course varies, but it typically takes 1 days to complete, including theory sessions, pool training, and open water dives.

Do I need prior diving experience?

Yes, prior diving experience is required. This course is designed for Open Water or Advanced Open Water Divers and want to expand their skills

What equipment do I need?

No, you don’t need to have your own scuba gear. We provide all necessary equipment as part of the course fee. However, we recommend purchasing your own mask, snorkel, and fins for a better fit and added comfort. If you’re interested in buying your own scuba gear, we offer special discounts for students on high-quality equipment.

Is the SDI Open Water certification accepted worldwide?

Yes, all SDI certifications are recognized worldwide. Once certified, you can dive in various locations, but your maximum depth limit will depend on your training level. Open Water Divers can typically dive up to 18 meters (60 feet).
